Why did we re-elect this woman?

Washington State is faced with a budget shortfall that is over 2 billion dollars, thanks largely to the spending spree that Christine Gregoire went on in her first term as governor. Washington is one of the most taxed states in the union (no surprise there since it has been under liberal control for the better part of 30 years or more) but it never seems to be enough. Even with punitive tax rates on business, a 37.5 cent per gallon gasoline tax and the looming threat of a state income tax, it will not be enough. But we’ve made necessary “investments” in education, health care and transportation, right? Right?

So…if you’re not a salmon fisherman and you aren’t going out of your way to seek a government handout, forget about you. If you think that paying your mortgage and keeping your family warm are your responsibility, guess what? You’re paying for your own needs and everyone else’s, too.
